Gouvia village is situated on the east coast of Corfu, within close proximity to the Town (roughly 8 km). Buses to both are daily available from 9pm till 4am (every 15 min), and from 4am till 10am (every 20 min). Those buses are doing regular stops through Gouvia, and will get you into Corfu Town after a 15 minute ride. Being set in the middle of the Island, this location is ideal as a starting point to explore the island by means of a car or a bike.

Gouvia used to be a small fishing village, but has evolved throughout the last four decades into a modern holiday resort. Ideal for couples and families who are visiting the island of Corfu, it provides an up to date and secure place for vacation. The village has about 600 inhabitants and was built on the site of an ancient Venetian harbor. Today, Gouvia is the main marina of Corfu and welcomes many yachts from all over Europe. The local people are nice, friendly and eager to accustom the foreign visitors to the way of Greek hospitality.

There are several beaches in the area consisting of sand, shingle and pebbles.
